How much handle there is to hold. Thinner transmits more of what the ball did; thicker absorbs more of it.

More pieces means more rubber lamination — more shock absorption.

Sweet spot position Required

Where the blade is thickest, and therefore where it hits hardest.

Toe shape Required

The bottom edge of the blade — the part that meets the ground and takes the yorkers. Shape trades weight against durability.

Oiling & knocking-in Required

A new blade needs preparing before it faces a hard ball. We can do it for you.

Premium bat cover

The bat ships in a plain sleeve. A padded cover protects the blade in a kit bag, which is where most damage that isn't a ball actually happens.

Anti-scuff sheet Required

A face protection sheet. Adds a little weight, adds a lot of life.

Toe threading

Stitched reinforcement through the toe. Worth it if you bat on abrasive ground.

Toe guard

A rubber cap bonded to the toe. Willow soaks up water from damp grass and splits from the bottom; this is what stops it.

Grips wear out long before a bat does. These are spares, sent with the bat.
